How You Can Participate
Investing
Shared Interest raises capital by accepting investments from individuals and organizations interested in South Africa’s equitable economic development. Shared Interest lenders commit a minimum of $3,000 for three or more years, often donating a portion of the interest earned on the principal to support Shared Interest’s operations and programs.
Contributors include individuals, faith-based organizations, corporations, foundations, non-profit organizations, foundations, banks and other institutions with investment capital. We also encourage socially responsible financial managers to consider Shared Interest as an investment vehicle. Contact us for our Prospectus.
Donations
It is also common for individuals and organizations to donate money outright to support our work. By donating to Shared Interest, you…
- Provide opportunity to South African’s of color – mainly women and families – to become economically independent as a result of their businesses, jobs, education, and housing!
- Move Shared Interest to increase its own self-sufficiency by supporting its efforts to manage and build its guarantee fund and provide technical and financial support for its partner organization, Thembani!
- Share with others your interest in a peaceful, democratic world!
The Internal Revenue Service has designated Shared Interest as a 501 (c)3 federally tax-exempt organization. Your contribution is tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.
Shared Interest accepts donations online.
