Donna Katzin — Executive Director
Donna Katzin is the Founding Executive Director of Shared Interest. From 1986 until July of 1994, she served as Director of South Africa and International Justice Programs for the Interfaith Center on Corporate Responsibility. In that capacity she worked with religious bodies, institutional investors and community organizations to exert economic pressure to end apartheid, promote responsible reinvestment after apartheid, and to advance social criteria for domestic and international lending. She holds a master’s degree in Community Organization and Planning, and a doctorate in Human Services Education and Development. She is a board member of the Thembani International Guarantee Fund in South Africa; Dos Pueblos, which works in Nicaragua; and the Jewish Funds for Justice in the U.S.
Alicia Kingue — Director of External Relations
Alicia Kingue previously served as Manager of Individual Gifts and Corporate Membership at El Museo del Barrio and as Grants and Research Administrator at New York University School of Medicine and the Rockefeller University. Alicia has also held international research and consulting positions including work with the Presidential Commission for the United Nations Millennium Development Goals in the Dominican Republic and FINCA International in El Salvador and Mexico where she worked within financial policy development and microlending. Alicia holds a B.A in Political Science from Baruch College and a Master’s Degree in Latin American and Caribbean Studies with a concentration in Economic Development and Microfinance from New York University.
John Woodburn — Finance Director
John previously served as Controller for nineteen years at Environmental Defense Inc. He was long active in the trade union movements, as an organizer for The Oil, Chemical and Atomic Workers Union, and as a labor educator at The New York District Council, United Brotherhood of Carpenter and Joiners of America. John is also operating a consulting business, Back Room Ops, focusing on financial reporting and systems requirements of small-to-medium non-profit organizations.
Sandra Zanele Zikalala — Director of Administration
Sandra has previously served as Research Assistant at the United Nations Office of the Special Coordinator for Africa and the Least Developed Countries, Department of Economic and Social Affairs (OSCAL, DESA). She has also served as Treasurer and Events Coordinator at the Good Shepherd United Methodist Church in Bergenfield, and lab Administrator at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center. She is currently a candidate for Master of Arts Degree in Political Science/ International Relations at Fairleigh Dickinson University, and holds a B.A. Degree from Bowdoin College.
